DrupalCamp Toronto is an annual conference organized by the Toronto Drupal Users Group to unite and improve the Drupal community in the Greater Toronto Area.

2011 Location

The 2011 DrupalCamp Toronto will be held on November 12-13 at the St. James campus of George Brown College, located at 290 Adelaide Street East. To get there by subway, exit at King subway station, then walk
or take the King streetcar east to Jarvis Street, and walk one block east on King Street. Parking is available on campus.

What is a DrupalCamp?

DrupalCamp Toronto is a BarCamp. style unconference focused on sharing skills and knowledge about Drupal. Our goal is to bring together smart people in an environment that is welcoming to all.

We have created several purchase points for tickets since this event is focused on sharing knowledge and bringing new faces into our community. We ask for $35 per day, but if you can’t meet that price please pay what you can.

This is a low cost, volunteer run event and so we encourage everyone to get involved. Propose a session, sponsor a small amount or simply pick up after yourself during the day. The Toronto Drupal User Group is setting the stage for a great event, but all participants and attendees make this happen!

Sessions and Topics

There will be two tracks with extra space for Birds of a Feather discussions.

In true BarCamp style, our sessions are proposed by community volunteers. The official schedule will be based on the sessions chosen by members attending DrupalCamp Toronto! In other words, YOUR camp will be two days of kick-ass sessions chosen by YOU. Pick ONLY the sessions you plan to attend when compiling your own ultimate schedule. The sessions with the most votes will make the cut. See something you like? Add it to your schedule! What if a session doesn't make it? Don't worry - we'll have lots of room for BoFs too!

What to Bring

  • Your computer (and power adaptor)
  • A surge protector or extension cord (labeled with your name)
  • Your mobile phone, set to vibrate please
  • Business cards
  • A water bottle and snacks
  • Cash for parking and eats if you don't bring snacks

CODE OF CONDUCT

To ensure that DrupalCamp Toronto is a safe, enjoyable event for all comers, we have devised the following baseline code of conduct.

The following will not be tolerated and will result in immediate dismissal from DrupalCamp Toronto. Please review these rules carefully, there will be a zero tolerance policy in place at the event:

  • Excessive Alcohol Usage, or ANY alcohol usage outside of the venue. This is disrespectful and the possible legal ramifications could jeopardize the event for everyone.
  • Use of illegal drugs in or anywhere near the venue. As in #1, not only is this disrespectful to other DrupalCamp Toronto attendees, it could also lead to the event being shut down. This is unacceptable.
  • While healthy, participatory discourse is encouraged, we will not tolerate abusive, badgering, or baiting arguments, whether during a session or otherwise. Likewise, disrupting the presentation of any individual, either through excessive interruptions, loud talking through a session in close proximity to a session, or attempting to take the stage (or similar presentation area) during another individual’s presentation will be grounds for immediate dismissal.
  • Aggressive behavior towards other DrupalCamp Toronto attendees, whether physical or verbal, will not be tolerated. This covers, but is not limited to:
    • Threats of violence
    • Excessive personal insults
    • Sexually aggressive behavior
    • “Stalking behavior” of any sort
    • Harassment of any person present at DrupalCamp Toronto or surrounding conventions

We want to make DrupalCamp Toronto a safe and comfortable environment for everyone involved, which is why we believe these very basic ground rules are necessary and non-negotiable. Feel free to contact any of the organizers if you have any questions on this matter and we will be happy to address your concerns.

Violations of the code of conduct will be dealt with swiftly. Please report any issues to the event organizers.
