Leo Burd is a researcher with the MIT Center for Future Civic Media, where he implements novel technologies and approaches for social empowerment and local civic engagement. Among other things, Leo leads the development of VoIP Drupal (http://drupal.org/project/voipdrupal), an open source framework that brings the power of voice and Internet-telephony to Drupal sites, enabling the creation of hybrid applications that combine regular touch tone phones, web, SMS, Twitter, IM and other communication channels in a variety of ways.
